Nuisance Level Not Acceptable
Bush, now taking every speech Kerry makes and finding something wrong with it, has criticized John Kerry on the amount to which he would like to minimize terroism.

`Now just this weekend, Senator Kerry talked of reducing terrorism to quote -- nuisance -- end-quote, and compared it to prostitution and illegal gambling. I couldn't disagree more,'' Bush said, in reference to a comment by Kerry in The New York Times Magazine.

``Our goal is not to reduce terror to some acceptable level of nuisance,'' Bush said. ``Our goal is to defeat terror by staying on the offensive, destroying terrorist networks and spreading freedom and liberty around the world.''

The obvious follow-up question, Mr. Bush, is how exactly do you plan to completely eradicate terrorism? The only possible way to do this is to murder every person who could conceivably committ acts of terrorism. But if you had vowed to do this in 2000, and then proceeded to round up your ideal list of Most Wanted Terrorists, my money is on the fact that Osama Bin Laden, a friend of your family's, would not have been persued.

Regardless, how could you possibly claim that you will be able to rid the world of terror past the point of nuisance? Using your own example, in the world that you propose, three card monte would be more of a threat to our nation than the possibility of another terrorist attack. Sign me up...

Most people are morons
So let's look at some results from a poll in Britain:

Spiders are more scary than terrorists -- at least according to a survey of a thousand Britons released Monday.

Household creepy crawlies frighten Britons more than terrorist attacks, or even death, the survey found.

Terrorism only came second on the list of respondents' top ten fears, according to the survey conducted by RSGB Omnibus for Universal Pictures UK Ltd. The survey was based on telephone interviews of 1,000 aged 16 to 55 across Britain on Sept. 22-26.

Another crawling phobia -- snakes -- was ranked third, followed by a fear of heights. Death came in a surprising fifth place as the nation's greatest fear.

Terrorism is above death on the list of fears? Well Christ Almighty, people, what exactly is it that you think terrorists are going to do that is so much worse than murdering you? Release a spider on you? The entire country of Britain deserves a nice punch in the collective face for this one. In fact, if anyone is frightened more by the concept of terrorism than the concept of death, they should stop reading the paper and start reading what may just be my next book: "The Idiots Guide to Life: Chapter 6 - Prioritizing."

Kerry on Israel
That crazy old flip flopper John Kerry finally explained his position on fighting terrorism by Palestinians in the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry warned Saturday that if he wins the November 2 election there will be no reprieve for sidelined Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

In hard hitting remarks in Florida, Kerry also promised to come down hard on nations in the Middle East that support groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.

Kerry praised Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for his "courageous" plan to withdraw from the Gaza Strip....Kerry also said his job as president, if he wins the November 2 election, would be to "hold those Arab countries accountable that still support terrorists, Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Aqsa brigades, and others.

"I will not give one inch in our efforts to do that," he said

It's good to see a presidential hopeful whose notion of the War on Terror actually relates to combatting terrorism.
